Retrieving Impounded/Towed vehicles:

In order to obtain release paperwork from the Edmundson Police Department, to retrieve a vehicle from the impound lot, you must be the registered owner of the vehicle, and have in your possession the following documents to present at the Records Office of the police department:

• Valid form of picture Identification

• Vehicle title application, or

• Vehicle title, or

• Notarized bill of sale

*** An insurance card will not serve as a valid form of ownership***

If you are not the registered owner, you may still obtain release paperwork by presenting the aforementioned documents in addition to a notarized letter, signed by the registered owner granting permission for the vehicle to be released. There will be no exceptions.

There is a $20.00 (cash only) tow release fee that is required to be paid at the Edmundson Police Department to obtain vehicle release paperwork.

It should be noted that all fees for towing services and storage are assessed by the designated towing company and not by The City of Edmundson, nor it’s police department. Fees will vary based on the services rendered by the towing service.
