The Public Works Department is committed to providing the highest level of service to ensure the city streets, park and buildings are maintained in a safe and clean condition.

Public Works Director, Chris Fernau and the public works staff are responsible for maintaining city hall, the police department and the public works garage.  The public works department is also responsible for maintaining the city streets, including snow removal, street sweeping, repairs of streets, signage as well as maintaining the city park.

Building permits and occupancy inspections are performed by Public Works Director Fernau.  All commercial inspections are contracted through St. Louis County.

The public works director is also responsible for all housing code violations such as ensuring all properties are maintained in a safe and clean condition in accordance with the City of Edmundson ordinances.
